Introduction

For my history project, I've chosen Driscoll Children Hospital as my topic. Since my mom and I have been working there for more than three years, I thought it might be interesting to learn about the history. As a full-time volunteer, I have learn some history but not  completely. Clara Driscoll was the one who donated her time and money to create a children's hospital in South Texas. The hospital was actually opened in 1953  and used to be an charity only community. Now, and ever since 1970,Driscoll is an non profit hospital that went from 25 beds to about 40,000 children hospitalized a year. There is so much more to find out about Driscoll and how this children's  place has came about. 

Scavenger Hunt!!!

Sarah Cantu and I went to go find the historical marker for the scavenger hunt with my mother. We decided to go for a walk since why not. We got free water from people who confronted us about some egg hunt and church celebration for Easter. We decided that the old 1900s court house was where the historical marker was even though I swore it looked different. Afterward, we went to stripes and took a picture with an Easter bunny and a hot dog. Then it hit me: the marker was different than the picture. We got the wrong courthouse. D: After finally getting the correct marker, Sarah and I tried to take a good selfie with it. This marker showed how the Hispanics or Mexican-Americans had to be taugh school in this courthouse because of segregation. This showed us that Mexican-American and Hispanics did not get treated like whites did regarding education. It also show that I didn't know much about Corpus's history.
